Weather-Related School Closings and Delays
NCS makes the decision to delay the opening of school, or to close school, due to inclement weather based on available information and concerns for the safety of families, faculty, and staff members, and in consultation with the other Close schools.
Information about a school closing or delay will be disseminated as early as possible, but we will make every attempt to have it posted on the NCS website no later than 6:00 am of the day in question. Check the website for a message on the homepage – that’s the first place we’ll post. An email announcement will then be sent to all parents, students with a cathedral.org email address, faculty, and staff.
You can also sign up on the NCS website to receive a text notification. Instructions on how to do so can be found here.
A closing or delay of the Close schools will also be announced on local television station WRC-TV (NBC) Channel 4 and WTOP Radio 103.5 FM.

In case of a rare early dismissal during the school day, parents will be notified by e-mail and text (if they have chosen text notifications, see above). In the case of an early dismissal, parents will need to make arrangements to pick up their child(ren) as soon as possible.
