Murray '14 and Hester '13 Shine in College Athletics

Hailey Murray '14 began her volleyball collegiate career this fall at the University of Maryland and has immediately become an impact player for the Terps.  She recorded her first career double-double with 11 kills and 10 blocks against Big 10 opponent Indiana on Friday, Oct. 3.  Murray was also named to the Black & Gold Challenge all-tournament team when Maryland travelled to Boone, NC for a tournament hosted by Appalachian State in September.  Through three conference matches, she currently averages 2.42 kills/set on .375 hitting and 1.33 blocks/set.

Emily Hester '13 continues to be a stand-out women's soccer player as she enters her second year playing for Amherst College in Mass.  Most recently, Hester scored two goals in a win over NESCAC opponent Hamilton on Saturday, Oct. 4.  Amherst is currently ranked 11th in the nation with a 8-1 overall record and 2nd in the NESCAC with a 5-1 record in the league.  Emily has three total goals this season and will look to add more as the Purple and White advance in the ranks.

Way to go Eagles!
