Katharine Holmes '11 Wins Gold at Pan-Am Games

Katharine Holmes '11 captured a gold medal in fencing Tuesday night at the Pan-American Games in Toronto. In the individual epee final, she claimed a dramatic 15-14 victory in overtime over Violeta Ramírez Peguero of the Dominican Republic.

Holmes is the United States' top-ranked epee fencer. A junior at Princeton University, she is preparing to compete for a spot in the 2016 Olympic Games.
