Great Day to be an Eagle!

The turf fields and Athletic Center at National Cathedral School buzzed with activity on Saturday September 20th while NCS hosted both Wilson High School and Brookewood for the school's annual Homecoming Games and FallFest.  Lower School students arrived early in the day donning their purple and gold apparel for a spirited game of kickball, while students, parents, family, friends and alumnae visited the various craft tables and carnival games.

The Cathedral Varsity Soccer team kicked off at 11am against a talented Woodrow Wilson team.  With every senior in the line-up, the Eagles displayed a wealth of soccer experience on the field and controlled much of the action.  The Eagles ended up with four goals on the day, two coming from senior Amelia Hannes '15, one from senior Marta Sniezek '15, and one from junior Nat Nigro '16.

With the traditional white sheets decorated for each senior displayed prominently on the Ferguson Upper Field, the Varsity Field Hockey team jumped out to a quick one-goal lead early in the game from a shot by senior Talley Snow '15 assisted by fellow senior Hayden Hamed '15.  The team held firm for the rest of the game for the 1-0 win.

One day earlier, on the Friday evening of Spirit Day, the Varsity Volleyball team squared up against a physical Maret team.  Despite fighting to a 20-25 score during the third set, the team fell to the Frogs in three sets.

Thank you, seniors, for a spirited Homecoming Weekend!
