Glorious Voices in Independent Schools Choral Festival, Oct. 21

On Tuesday, October 21, the NCS-STA Chorale will host the 25th Annual Independent Schools Choral Festival, an evening of music sung by 600 Upper School students from nine area independent schools.

The 8:00 pm. concert in the Cathedral will last approximately 90 minutes, and all are invited to attend. There is no admission charge, but we encourage early arrival for best seating, since we expect a crowd of around 2,000 for the concert.

We encourage concertgoers to park in the Cathedral garage. The special event parking fee is $10 (cash only), payable upon entry to the garage.

This choral festival founded in 1989 by St. Albans School director of music emeritus, Richard Roeckelein, will be conducting the National Anthem to open the concert. The massed choirs will sing four pieces all together, and each school will perform one piece on its own, making a glorious first concert of the year for all nine participating schools. The Chorale will sing Moses Hogan’s rousing setting of the spiritual My Soul’s Been Anchored in the Lord.
