Fall Sports Tryouts and Preseason Information

Tryouts will begin on August 18, 2014 and continue through August 22, 2014. Practices begin on August 25, 2014 if your daughter is selected for a team. These tryouts are open to all NCS girls, grades 9-12, interested in competing on JV or varsity fall teams. 

All athletes must have completed NCS health forms and have emergency contact information on file in order to participate in tryouts.
ALL STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED ON AUGUST 18 in order to participate on a team. If you have a conflict, please contact Director of Athletics and Physical Education, Heather Dent, via email at hdent@cathedral.org.

TRYOUT LOCATIONS AND TIMES

• Soccer: 3:00-6:30pm - Nazareth Field (Lower)

• Volleyball: 3:00-6:30pm - Athletic Center courts

• Field Hockey: 3:00-6:30pm - Ferguson Field (Upper)

• TENNIS            

 3:00-6:30pm – East Potomac Tennis Center, 1090 Ohio Drive, Washington, DC 20024.
If a student needs to ride the NCS bus, please arrive at the Athletic Center at 2:30pm during tryouts.

Due to construction on the St. Alban’s tennis courts, all NCS practices and home matches will occur at East Potomac Tennis Center.  Transportation will be provided to/from each day by an NCS bus.

• Cross Country

“Optional” Cross country camp will take place in Lake Champlain, VT; from Aug. 17 through Aug. 25. The cost for camp will be approximately $875.00 per athlete.  This camp is a coordinate experience with the boys from St. Albans School. 

Cross country practice will begin on Wednesday, Aug. 27 through Friday, Aug. 29 at Satterlee-Henderson field at St. Albans from 4:00-6:00 pm. Regular practice will begin at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The cross country team does not cut athletes so no tryouts will occur.  Athletes who need more information about cross country camp should email Coach Jim Ehrenhaft at jehrenhaft@cathedral.org.
