Scott Hall 2.0 Opens for its First Classes

The first rooms to be occupied are the science lab-classrooms on the third floor, which are being used for Upper School science classes taught by Jessica Clark, Tim Harger, Jennifer Lear, Brendan Moriarty, and Deborah Virtue. The light-filled, large science classrooms are divided into classroom and lab station areas. Ms. Virtue said, “It gives me goose bumps to be here, after so much work on everyone’s part. I was here at 11:30 pm on Saturday, moving in, and the workmen were too, racing to get it finished!”

One floor down, Teaching and Learning Center Director Allison Gammage was still unpacking in the new T&L Center, and storage spaces were being built for the Geography Lab; the Geography faculty hope to be in it next week.  The art rooms on the first floor are still taking shape.  But, Scott Hall is now connected and open to Founders Hall, and both teachers and students are taking time to walk through, all exclaiming over the light, the space, and that “new classroom smell.”

NCS is grateful to everyone who has worked so hard to make the renovation of Scott Hall a reality – board members, staff members, and our generous parents, alumnae, and friends.
